Welcome to Pike Hole Family Farm

Since 2008, Pike Hole Family Farm has been a fixture of Polk and northern Saint Croix County farmers markets. Over those 16 years, we have grown from 1/8 acre to just shy of 20 acres of all-natural produce. Our Mission is to provide the freshest, most delicious and nutritious homegrown vegetables at affordable prices.

Unlike the corporate food industry, we have no wealthy investors to appease and no middlemen demanding larger profits. Just a family to feed and a farm to run. That allows us to focus on our customers- providing premium products at surprisingly affordable prices. You know that the price you pay is the minimum price we need to operate the farm and earn a modest living.

Our focus is on our local communities in the greater St. Croix Valley- including a large number of new customers from across the river in Eastern MN and the East Metro.

Because of this, we NEVER use any toxic chemicals or fertilizers. Instead we go beyond 'OMRI approved' to use healthy, natural means to build our soil and grow the healthiest produce possible.

We offer many types of produce, from arugula to zucchini. Expect a large supply of garden staples like beans, cukes, tomatoes, lettuce, melons, broccoli, squash and sweet corn- along with a few you're less familiar with! Most vegetables are available in both small sizes and in bulk.

Don't forget to enjoy our many popular homemade canned items, available exclusively at our local farmers markets. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to get updates and list of available produce each week all season long.

Whether as a CSA Member or a pay-as-you-go customer, we invite you to try our fresh produce or homemade canned goods for yourself!

CSA or Traditional?

We strive to serve all of our customers, whether you are a CSA Member or a traditional market shopper. In fact, our CSA members 'shop' at our farmers markets right alongside our regular customers!!! There is no one best answer for everyone. What's important to us is that your style of shopping is the best fit for you!

Advantages of a My Way CSA
Our CSA program is designed to give you maximum flexibility and affordability. Gone are the days of a weekly box. Instead, you get to select what you want, how much you want, and when you want it. With a My Way CSA, you can miss as many weeks as you like/need and can shop at as many markets each week as you like.

Instead of use-it-or-lose-it 'weeks', you receive points to use throughout the season. You can use them however you choose- including options for bulk (canning/freezing) quantities and canned goods- homemade from the same vegetables we sell fresh. Any unused points simply roll over to the next season! You even have 3 different size options, to fit your family size and expected consumption.

Being a CSA Member also saves you money. Member savings are built into the point system. Save even more by enrolling early (by April 30 each year). Learn about all of the advantages of a My Way CSA here.

Advantages of Traditional Shopping
While many find the savings and other perks of a CSA too good to pass up, a membership is in no way required to enjoy our delicious, nutritious produce. In fact, the majority of our customers prefer to pay as they shop.

Traditional shopping is best for those who visit the markets more sporadically or prefer not to commit for an entire season. Either way, we'll make sure to do our best to provide premium quality products at not premium prices!

All-Natural Produce

While we do not certify organic, we do adhere to organic guidelines and use only OMRI-approved products.

Beginning in 2023, we no longer use added fertilizers of any kind. Instead, we rely upon various cover crops as a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to build and maintain natural fertility in healthy, living soil.

You can taste the natural  goodness, and know that you are giving your family the freshest, healthiest produce you can find. And you are supporting local agriculture that uses natural sustainable practices.
